I am thinking of naming my daughter Anna, and was wondering how most people would pronounce the name spelled that way. Like "Ah-nah" or like "An-nah". Thanks for your input!

If you're in the states, you can pretty much guarantee she'll get AN-nah 99% of the time. If it's AHN-nah you want, that would be Ana.

If you're in Italy, Germany or another country where Anna is commonly AHN-nah, then you have nothing to worry about. But I'm assuming from your question that isn't the case. ;)

I like Ah-nah, but I think most people would call her An-nah regardless of what it's supposed to be unless you spell it differently.

Definitely Ah-nah. My Hispanic co-madre (mother of my godbaby) is named Ana and pronounced this way. I also have a friend from England who pronounces hers this way. I sounds SO elegant! There is just something too hick/country/redneck (?) about the harsh A sound in the other pronounciation. Like the "eh" when bugs bunny says "Eh? What's up doc?"

I would pronounce it An-nah. I've never heard any pronounce the other way.

I like both ways, but Ah-nah sounds sophisticated
and An-nah sounds more bubbly.
I personally would choose to say Ah-nah if it were my child.

Like "An-nah". I think that if you want the pronunciation "Ah-nah", then you would want to take out one N so it would be like Ana.

Well, I think it is really pretty, but kind of a mouthful if you can kind of see where I am getting at. Cheyenne and Anna combined is kind of much. I'd spell it Cheyenna or Cheyanna.
