Retail giant Toys "R" Us Canada ordered an immediate stop to sales of a popular children's toy yesterday and pulled remaining stock off shelves after it was discovered that a similar product in Australia releases a hallucinogenic drug when swallowed and has landed two children in hospital.

AquaDots, a popular toy distributed in North America by Spin Master Ltd., was pulled after it was discovered the Australian version of the toy is coated with a chemical that releases the drug gamma-hydroxy butyrate also known as GHB or Fantasy, when swallowed.

The toy, called Bindeez and sold by Moose Enterprise in Australia, was the subject of a major recall in that country yesterday after at least two children suffered seizures and were hospitalized when they swallowed toy beads that come with the product. Both have since recovered.

i hope this naswers your question.=)

What in the world are aqua dots? I have seen about 5 questions about this, and I have never heard of them. My kids are pretty much grown, so I guess that's why I am out of the loop on this, but with Christmas coming up and nieces and nephews to buy for, I probably need to find this out too!

The color coating on the Aqua Dot candy turns into the "date rape drug" when ingested, causing highly dangerous symptoms that inculde blacking out into unresponsive comas and death.

To my knowlege, only a few children and one parent have been struck with NON-life threatening symptoms and are expected to recover.

There has been a massive planet-wide immediate recall of the Aqua Dot toy.

But the liability damage has been done, as I'm sure these parents are hiring attorneys geared for a very very ugly lawsuit on the maker/distributor of Aqua Dots.

Not to mention the serious International and U.S. Federal charges upon the CEO of the company that made Aqua Dots toys, surely to be charged with massive controlled substance distribution.

The coating on them that helps them stick together has some chemical that turns into a hallucinogen when ingested. When enough have been consumed, it's put some kids in f*cking comas and other nasty sh*t. Don't by the dots, if u want to give ur kids dots I'd say e or lsd would be better

Aqua Dots are very very bad if swallowed. It turns out they contain the date rape drug. So yes, it's true.

the chemical coating when swallowed ferments in your stomach and contains a certain effect of the date rape drug. It does produce the same symptoms. They have been recalled.
