Think of something that you want to get done that day and then use that as an excuse to get up, something that you enjoy, something that makes you smile, I will do this alot of times just to motivate myself for the coming day. I find something to look forward to, this helps to get up and get the day started.

I agree with the first answerer, regular exercise can be quite helpful for general sleep regulation. Even just 20 minutes of brisk walking a day will do something for you.
Do you wake up on your own, or with an alarm? If with an alarm, figure out about when you fall asleep and when you're waking up. I read that it's better to sleep in 90 minute intervals because you run the least risk of waking up in the middle of deep REM sleep. Basically, you'd be better off if you woke up after a 90 minutes than two hours, because if you slept for two hours you'd be waking up in the middle of a cycle. Adjust accordingly.
Besides that, as a high school student, I find that the hardest, best way to wake up in the morning is to just roll out of bed -sometimes literally, landing on the wheels of my desk chair...ow...- and start moving. Also, a shower that's on the cooler side -not cold, that's just the perfect way to make you miserable- will probably wake you up gently, and make you feel more alert. Warm water just makes me sleepy, don't know about you.
For some reason I started feeling better in the morning when I ate oatmeal for breakfast every day. If it's not sugar with some oatmeal sprinkled in, give it a shot. The instant stuff isn't as good as stovetop but having a hot breakfast ready in three minutes is worth it.
I've also had an easier time waking up since I started eating less meat, but that could also just be me.

Exercise and protein. Less caffeine means less caffeine dependency, which will help you stay awake longer. Eat healthy too!
