Since killing them is not likely to be a practical answer:
Term limits, making them fully financially, criminally & civicly liable for any harm they caused in office; make them serve without pay; public torture & execution for those found to be corrupt; 24 hour survellance;
If I think of anything else I'll be sure to edit this post...

I think the best way to improve anyone's integrity is having a word of honor. To politicians, this would be following up on platform. Do what you promised the people when you were still campaigning.

Give them as little power as possible. Local politicians are more likely to stay true to the voters because they see them everyday. The problem comes when the federal govt. has all the power and they don't have to answer to anyone. Like this recent immigration bill that congress keeps trying to shove through even though 85% of Americans disagree with it.

Being realistic in your expectations an recognize that it is the job of politicians to make compromises.
When they tell the truth, defend them when they are criticized for it, even when it is a truth you do not like. Publicly criticize politicians for being untruthful, even when you support their policies, but don't nit pick about trivia.
Donate money to and work for campaigns, so they will not be as dependent on a few rich donors.

Politicians have to deal with a diverse constituency. They constantly waffle to make the voters think favorably of them. They can never please everyone.
To improve politicians integrity you will need a way to make all people agree on everything.

Did you just use "politicians" and "integrity" in the same sentence? HAA..
My answer would be to denounce politics, and your integrity would improve instantly.
