In theory they should value the will of the people most when deciding how to vote. Unfortunately it seems that they value the view of special interest groups (lobbyists) most. Our government is supposed to be a representative government meaning the politicians are elected to represent us and our ideals. But they don't.

The benefit of the bill to the people is the primordial consideration in voting in favor of the bill. If it is only for a party or interests of a certain group, the bill must not be passed.
