A month is not that long ago. Have you completely recovered form your injury? If you are not sleeping well, you might consider talking to a counselor. You have undergone considerable stress. There is no shame in seeking help.

I am so sorry about this crime. These tragedies are awful.
Do you have a church? Perhaps talking with some one at church would help.
If not, now might be a good time to consider going to church. Lots of people find comfort and purpose and meaning in faith. I'm a Christian and go to a Baptist church so I am biased. But there are others that agree on the basics that can be helpful as well.
I have a friend who is dealing with the same kind of thing. I know it hurts. My friend has said he doesn't know how people go through it without trusting God.
Best wishes.

Share your fears with your parents. The best thing to do is to tell someone who can support you at this time. This must have been such a terrible shock to you, and it sounds like you're pretty young.
If you can't talk to anyone in your family about it, talk with the school counselor.
Then, understand that terrible things do happen randomly and, unless you live in a very bad neighborhood, it probably won't happen again. If you do live in an unsafe area, possibly you could talk to your family about moving.
It's also okay to be angry with the perpetrator and to grieve the loss of your friend's sibling.
If you are afraid of death itself, read the Bible and find out what God says about eternity and how to live eternity with Him. It is true that He wants to live with you now and forever!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I would probably felt the same way. the only cure is to speak up your thought with your family rather than keeping it inside. if you're the type can't keep it low, this might cause pressure and stress because your negative feelings will build up and will slowly kill your trust towards society. let it out. let your self free. if you think you can't tell to your family, seek help from your school's counselor or better professional help.
wishing you for the best

I'm sorry to hear of what happened to your friend and you. There are things that happen in life that are very traumatic but what I do is go to the source of protection which is the good Lord.Ask him for protection, comfort and the ability to not be paralyzed by the horrible things of this world but to grow stronger because of them.

yeah the first time somebody tyou know or even if they were just someone you knew of it is alweays hard to get it out of your mind. but keep in mind death is a part of life, everybody dies, and I dont wanna bum you out even more but a few more people you know from jr. high and high school are gonna die too. it happens to everyone, i guess you could say it is part of growing up. once you graduate high school and eveybody goes off and does their own thing, people die. its jsut the way things are. be sort of thankful that it happened to you earlyer in life than most so you will be able to coep better the next time a tragety occurs to someone you know or knew, cause its gonna happen again. sadly. my parents told me a similar thing and i did not believe them, now im out of college and four people i knew in high school are dead, it is just one of thoise things everybody has to go through

Death is part of life & nobody can escape death. We all have to go the same way.So, why live in fear? Don't be afraid. Fear is a habit. It will take time for you to overcome. Be strong!!!

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend... I would have an open talk to someone about your experience... It usually helps to talk to someone who trust. I find if you repressed your emotions, it makes it harder to bottled up those feelings inside.
