well think about this the square root gives you the number that when you multiply it by itself you would get the original number. So what number when mulitplied by it self gives you 25. The answer is 5. But you also must consider somthing else as well. When you multiply two negatives numbers together you get a postive so -5*-5=25 so the square root of 25 is positve and negative 5. As for 81 the same principle applies 9*9=81 but -9*-9=81 as well so your square roots for 81 is postive and negative 9.

Finding the square root off a whole # is easy. 5X5=25 9X9= 81. The square root is 5 and 9.
