The white wedding dress is not a symbol of virginity. It might once have been, a long time ago, but not lately.

The white dress is a symbol of a girl's first wedding. Women getting married for the second time don't wear white.

Because it's not so much the representation or a symbol.
Modern brides wear white because it is traditonal, it's beautiful, it's classic, and it's a fashion statement, not a sex statement.

White is a traditional color and I consider it a symbol of pure love, not virginity. It does not matter how many times a person weds, it's their personal choice to wear what color makes them happy. It could be pink, gold, red, purple, etc.
Couples are also chosing to get married underwater, while skydiving, etc. Wedding traditions are changing and I'm not shocked anymore.

It's traditional bridal wear. The linkage between a white gown and virginity ended years ago, as well it should have. Remember, people used to get married at much younger ages and would live with their parents until their wedding night, so things are much different now.

Women used to marry in black, even if they were virgins. If that was the one nice dress they could afford they married in it. The color of the dress is just for fashion anyway.

Every little girl dreams of the white wedding dress. If that is what they want to do that is exactly what they are going to do. They throw etiquette to the wind.
