I have a 2000 South Carolina quarter that has a golden hue to it. It looks very professionally done like a golden dolar, I cant scratch it off or anything. Is this worth more or less than any other quarter.

It did not take long after the first state quarter to come out for someone to try and make the fast buck. The quarters are gold plated, colored and even platinum plated. Serious coin collectors consider them damaged coins and I doubt very much is they will have an after market resale value. I must admit I saw a set ( up to the last one minted) of the colored ones, they were hand painted and in a nice wood frame on a wall, I thought they looked real nice. A set of the gold ones may look nice also. They will never be worth a lot but would be a nice item to hand down through the family over the years. I have always gone by the saying, coin collecting should be fun and do my own thing, it has actually made me money over the years. If you are good at tell a yarn, you could always come up with a good story as to how you got it, that may amaze your friends. They have very little gold on them and sell for a few dollars.
