Do prokaryotes and simple eukaryotes sleep?

If so, how does their activities differ during sleep and during the time they are "awake"?

No, they do not sleep like higher animals. They live in a feast and famine life style. When there is plenty of food, they can party day and night. When there is no food, they become dormant.
