The till handle folds up and you hook up the motor the same as any other. Exactly how it connects depends on what type of motor and what type of steering.

i am reading your question 2 different ways...
if you are adding a tiller handle motor to a boat with and existing motor, you will need to add tie rod to connect the 2 motors together so, when you turn your steering wheel it will turn both motors...
if you have tiller motor and a boat with no existing motor, you will need to find out if there is a remote steering kit available. if you will add details or IM me, i can supply you with the information you will need.

on mercury motors a 9.9 or 25 handel can be converted with a kit to run off sterring cabels but if you just want to use the motor as a kicker motor then you have to leave the handel. If you are wanting two engins on the back of your boat linked together then you need to get a conversion kit

First I am assuming this is for your Jon boat. If it is you will need steering cable(s) that are attached to your outboard, cable mounting bracket for attachment to transom and the most expensive part you will need is forward motor controls. You can get most parts at http://www.iboats.com/Contorls_Steering/dm/category_id.8--view_id.8
This will give you details as to mounting:
