I filed for divorce.. we didn't sleep in the same room..
but lived in the same house during divorce..
action was taken immediately..
as soon as we could get a court date..
and hearing it would of been final..
this was in Nashville, Tennessee

he got orders to move on.. so we went to Texas.. and got back together for another 10 years..
it still end in divorce.
A new divorce was filed..
. a pleim. hearing was held.. another court date was held.. property was divided.. and had it not of been for the courts being over crowded .. it would of happened real quick..

but there is a 30 day wait to remarry..
Neither one of us has remarried.. we go to eat..or take the g'kids to 6 flags.. really unusual.. but I do not cross over my boundary line..I have never heard of being separated for 6 months as a law or rule.. ck w/ an attorney in Ill or call Legal Aid..

I was divorced in Illinois and there was nothing about a 6 month separation or anything like that. The time depends on if you have a settlement worked out before you go to court. If child support, visitation, division of property, etc is determined, then things should take a couple of months.

Along time ago when I divorced my first hubby, the courts made us a legal separation, (6 mos.) then if we didn't get back together during that 6 mos. we could follow through with the divorce, and the time frame depends on if you are having custody issues, and property issues, it could take up to a year and a half if you count the 6 mos of separation, and that's the best case scenario, worst case is 2-3 years, good luck to you.

Doubt it, I don't think they could implement such a law. But if you want to be extra sure about all the particulars of your state, I guess you consult a divorce lawyer, you can find one here: http://www.insightempire.com/Divorcelawyerconsultation/
