Cabrera is a better player at this stage of their careers and he is also younger, Cabrera would be the better choice.

First and foremost Tejada does not have the right chemistry for pinstripes --- so that's not gonna happen. Besides that, you'd have to move him to third and will not make that transition the way A-Rod did. His mentality is disruptive and that is never tolerated in the Yanks organization.
Secondly, this time I am holding my breath regarding Cashman not letting any good young pitching get away. If there was one bright spot for Yanks fans this last season it was the debuts of a lot of their young future pitching stars. Hughes, Kennedy, especially Joba.
Third, Melky isn't going anywhere unless they get something really big in return. That would only create another vacancy for them to fill.
And fourth, you'll be seeing Mike Lowell in pinstripes when the '08 season opens. They are not going to give Florida any good young talent and Melky to get Cabrera.

Cabrera is a natural 3rd basemen and Tejada is not going to change positions like Arod did. Besides why would the Orioles trade inside their division. Cabrera may not look good in pinstripes because baseball people are concerned that he is gaining weight and not in the greatest physical shape. There is a lot of demand for Cabrera so it remains to be seen if he can be acquired for less than top notch minor league prospects and Melky C

Tejada is a head case who doesnt realize he's not a very good defensive SS. He will not move to 3rd. Nice stick, but not a good fit.
Everyone is complaining about Cabrera's weight because some writer said he gained some. Now all the Monday Morning Quarterback geniuses have decided he's on the decline and not worth the effort. That's a bunch of bull. Of the possibilities so far, he's the guy they should go after. Of course, it depends on the demand in a trade.
By the way, Grirardi will have him losing weight so fast he wouldnt know what hit him.

I think Miguel Cabrera should be the third baseman. He is young and Joe Girardi likes him. He would be perfect to replace A-Rod. I just hope the Yankees can work out a deal without Joba, Hughes, Kennedy and Melky. I think we can. We have more players than them.

i'd go with tejada, all things being equal. tejada keeps himself in great shape and is an above average defender. cabrera is only a slightly better offensive player in poor condition (he's gained 70 lbs since becoming a mlb player), and he's a below average fielder. oh yeah, he's a prima donna.

i would like to have cabrera on the team, but the yanks cant get rid of thier young talent, pitching is most important, and the yankees already have plenty of good offensive players
