I am the commish of a league with 8 teams. There is trade limit rule, but each trade is put to a league vote. We recently had 2 teams that wanted to make their 3rd trade in 4 weeks. This trade was vetoed even though the 2 managers involved seemed to honestly be trying to better their teams. I decided that 3 trades between 2 teams in 4 weeks is too much and would set a bad precedent. I urged the league to vote against the trade and they did. One of the managers involved (Team A) is in last place, while the other team is in 3rd place. Team B manager is bitter and accuses me of changing the rules about trading by urging a limit. I explained that 2 trades between the same teams is a "fair" limit to avoid looking like collusion.

Trade 1:
Team A traded Larry Johnson
Team B traded Reggie Wayne

Trade 2:
Team A traded Reggie Wayne
Team B traded Rudi Johnson

Trade 3 (vetoed):
Team A wanted to trade Antonio Gates & Kenny Watson
Team B wanted to trade Vernon Davis & Kevin Jones

I meant to say there is NO trade limit rule in the first sentence!

If theres truly a no limit rule yet you vetoed the proposed trade, then it seems to me that you broke your own rules.

At the point where the second trade was about to take place is where the warning flags should have gone up for the other owners. The 3rd place team ultimately received Larry Johnson and Reggie Wayne for a banged up Rudi Johnson.

I can see where your semantics may have caused the 3rd place owner to complain, since there isn't a "limit" rule on the book. You may need to put something in writing for next year to avoid any more problems.

Trade 3 seems like the most normal trade out of the 3.

Trade 1:

Larry Johnson could possibly be out for some time and Reggie Wayne is a fantasy gem. Seems a little sketchy.

Trade 2:

Again. Reggie Wayne is a gem and Rudi Johnson is just coming back from an injury and will be splitting time with Kenny Watson.

there is a good chance you have 2 teams and 1 owner he is tiring to get better trade for team B every time..all you need is two different emails if you can i would lock both teams and bench all there players that's what my commish did when we caught the same thing happening

I bet team B has a better record

eh... I don't really care about trade limits...

I mean if multiple trades looks horrible (like Adrian Petterson for Rex Grossman)... then I would ask questions... but I've seen much worse trades than those...

just my opinion...
