It's sad people stoop to this level, but in all fairness the media reports from a slanted view all the time, they report opinions. They don't report things if it will negatively affect "their candidate". Politics has become nothing more than a soft version of the maffia. That's why I feel as voting CITIZENS need to make our voices known. We all have different issues that are important to us, if your Senators or Congressmen/women aren't representing you; then let them know. We have the power to change things rather than just rant about the corruption of politics on YA. The decay caused by corruption is everywhere...let's do our part to take care of it.

There has always been 'mudslinging' during campaiging but the blatant lying started really when the 'Swift-Boat' vets came
out and said those things about him. It was later found out that they were paid off and all liars. What dishonorable men!
And un-American! I'm no Kerry fan, trust me on that, but the slander that went on in favor of two men who did not even honorably serve their country ( Cheney a five time draft dodging coward and Bush, a no-show and drunkard during his so-called 'service' ) did nothing positive for this country. It is against the law to slander another person to gain favor or to harm their reputation and this should go double during Political campaigns where the citizens of this great country need facts and honesty to determine how they will vote. Also keep in mind that if the truth will lead to a loss, than some think the only alternative are lies. We can all now see where those lies got US over the past 7 years! More lies!

Is it different from the "why do cons always say that" or "why do libs always think that" type of questions that start out with a false premise?
Looking pointedly at another poster above, I might add that if one is going to state what another party thinks, one owes it to oneself as much as too that party to speak accurately. Otherwise one looks like a buffoon.
I don't know why people post blatant lies. This is an anonymous site. It's not like we are going to hold him in higher regard at church Sunday because he "knows" stuff no one else seems to.

Perhaps those who are slandered should immediately file suit. I doubt whether anyone would take on the DNC or RNC with their easy access to legal force.
This is an issue for the national committees of the parties to deal with. Much if not all of this slander originates with proxy organizations who do the bidding of the national committees.
The national committees need to be vigilant and ruthless in this regard.

Here is an example of a false attack on Hillary Clinton I found on Truth O' Meter
Clinton "refused repeated requests to meet with the Gold Star Mothers."
She has met with them four times.

They do it all the time on here, Jess. Unlike you and a couple of others on Y/A they do not research. I've seen lies on just about every candidate running. I took your advice and try to research as much as possible. They should do the same!

I guess it is the nature of the format. Since these are all opinions some people feel like they need to type lies about some candidates in the hope of changing someone else's mind.

I don't know. I hope they are just trolling. I fear they don't know the difference.
There are several behaviors here that are little short of bizarre.
Here's to honesty actually being the best policy! I hope the policy is renewed.

you may desire to collect recommendations from a sort of materials and make the judgment your self. there is not any one source for thoroughly impartial recommendations on the two applicants. attempt the respected web content of each and every, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, enormous apple cases, Wash post, for a start up.

I know that you're referring to people actually here on YA. I can understand people being paid (such as the Swift Boaters [1]) to lie. But I doubt that that many people posting to the internet are paid [2].
Unless these are really paid stooges, I think that it comes down to pride and ego. They would prefer to appear right than to actually BE right.
