Because they are cheaper to make for now. As the dollar tanks, it will soon be cheaper to make toys in this country again (Whenever the Federal Reserve Banks decide to stop lowering the interest rate to prop up the bloated stock market). In fact, you will HAVE to make them here, since China will be the only country with money to buy oil, since we gave them all of OUR money for cheap crappy toys and Christmas decorations (ain't that a HOOT!!? Godless communists making blowup Santas and plastic nativity scenes...)
If you want Change, keep it in your pocket. The dollars you spend only vote for the other dollars. If you don't want Chinese toys, then pay more for your neighbor to make your toys. Support local economics.

Sadly, history repeats itself....the appeasement of a Communist country in hopes to ferment orderly democratic reforms. It failed with Stalin and it will fail yet again. Muggeridge wrote about it and Churchill warned the world about it.....but politicos and corporate heads here want to toast marshmallows around an open flame and act as if reasoning with Communist despots can be successfully accomplished.

well,
1.) they stop selling them when they find out they are deadly
2.)only 1 in thousands of items we buy from China are unsafe.
3.) if we stop buying, we will lose over 1/2 of the products we sell in the US.
but dont get me wrong what is unsafe should be stopped!
