Yes they do work, Tampax sells a multi pack with Heavy, Medium and Light models in one pack. For heavy days...change every 4 hours. Always use a new one before bed and change in the morning, or if you wake up in the middle of the night to go pee.

Yes, they can work with heavy periods but make sure you get the type designed for heavy flow days. In my particular case, tampons get changed as soon as they start showing signs of becoming saturated such as spotting on panties or the string looking bloody. I say that on heavier days, tampons can be changed as often as needed but on light days, they shouldn't be left in for more than about eight hours. If they're left in too long, there's the risk of getting Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Yes they will. You should change it at least every 8 hours, with heavy flow that will be a shorter time, but the box says at least 8 hrs. Wear at least a panty liner with it and you will soon learn how often you need to change during the different days of your period.

They don't for me. Even the Super ones will only slow it down if you really have a heavy period. Change them when they start leaking or 4-6 hours if they last that long.

Depends on what brand..Tampax Pearl is tiny and won't work with a heavy period...all others, i've had no problem with.
I typically change them every 4 hours, but once, I was in a predicament and changed it after 7 hours...still OK, but not recommended due to the smell...

for gods sake do NOT put 2 tampons in at one time unless you want to be in the emergancy room! TSS is a b****.. but as for your question. yes you can use tampons for a heavy flow. Platex Gentle guide, is great, there very comfortable, and if you change ever 4-8 hours and before bed, but always remember you dont have to change everytime you pee. you can keep it in when you pee. GOOD LUCK
