i usually dont spell that badly but sometimes u just wanna type and get it done, so i spell like that. but does that automatically make people young? or can adults do it too?

This seems to be the official language of teenagers. *sigh* I hate textspeak with a passion- it should be made a punishable crime. It doesn't automatically make people young. I know adults who write like this, but it makes you look really stupid and lazy. It may be quicker for you to type like that but it takes longer for other people to read because your brain is trying to process words that it isn't used to. I think if people can't be bothered to write correctly then why should other people bother to read it?

Spelling like that is pointless. Using abbreviations, however is just a lot more practical.

You know, all of the netspeak. I type everything out on Yahoo Answers and forums, but on aim/chartrooms, I abbreviate a lot. I'm sure everyone wants things to look pretty, but don't spend an hour proofreading it....

It makes you appear young and immature. Some adults use it, I suppose, but it seems to be more in vogue with the younger teenagers, and preteens.

Or just in all caps.

Highly unintelligent.
Chat speak is
a) unattractive
b) unintelligent
c) stupid.
It doesn't make you look younger; just dumber.
