Meaning: The child in a person must die for them to enter adulthood. Only dead adults enter society. All adults are simply decayed children.

I totally DISAGREE. I don't believe the child inside must die for a person to become an adult and enter society. Children are as much a part of society as adults. Not all adults have a decayed child inside them. But this does not mean that there are not cases where it IS true. I just don't believe it is true in ALL cases.

It is simple actually, and very interesting, The child part at the beginning is referring to happy moments in which we all generally enjoy life and in which we all go about our business without having to worry about the troubles which lay later on in the future. The corpses is basically our teenage years in which we have realized it isn't all about fun anymore , but about maturity and the responsibilities of every day tasks most of whom many adults consider tiering and boring which is what the hell part describes basically you are having a dreadful life, the dread children part means that one fears children even when they do love them because they basically show you how you how far you've gotten in life, assuming the author had negative experience... well that is my opinion..

It's a very sad and cynical thought.

The idea is that when you stop being a child and start being an adult, a child dies as an adult is born. So we look at children and we love them and admire them and we sort of envy them, but just looking at them reminds us that we used to be like that before we 'died' and became adults.

I don't think thats 100% true, I think some of the child lives on within us. But we all do have to grow up and be adults, and perhaps this -is- part of why we love children so much, love being with them and seeing things through their eyes.

Ok his guy is a major pesimist for sure. What he is saying (in my opinion) is that children are innocent, good, and pure but when they become adults its as though those characteristics dissapear or are tainted which makies them adults or what he refers to as corpses of children. Society equals hell to Brian. In other words he hates the human race it depresses him and he knows that the next generation of children will carry out this. It doesnt matter how clean their minds are

I disagree, hes one of those guys that kills himself because he hates the world and people and society as a whole. what a loser, but very brilliant genius. it evens out

hope that helps!
