How do you get a date with any person? Hockey players are people too!! With real feelings, and dreams of their own, and... Well, except for Sean Avery. Lol.
Anyway, I can see if you meet a guy and like him and he plays hockey... but ask yourself what standards are you lowering by going after a guy exclusively because he's a hockey player? Not all hockey players have the same personality. Or even the same physique, for that matter (whatever makes them wonderful fine sexy real men to you).
