He knows that the patriots have a chance to make people forget the 1972 dolphins.

Of course he sounds like a senile old man waiting to pop champagne. Funny he doesn't mention that he illegally negotiated with the Dolphins while still coach of the Colts in 1970. This spygate thing is the most overblown scandal ever. The Jets got caught by the Pats in 06 videotaping our sideline, but Belichick didn't want to violate the coaches code so he didn't turn him in. Why do you think the very next week Billick came out and publicly accused the Jets of illegally simulating the Ravens signals? The majority of coaches were pissed at Mangini, not Belichick, because so many of them do shady things to win, like pump in crowd noise. To say this season is marred in any way is ridiculous, and the Fish can thank senile old Don when we hang a 60 spot on them in Foxborough. Everyone else is just a hater.

I'm so SICK of this Spygate. You see from baseball to football to basketball, etc., especially this past year, that EVERYONE does SOMETHING to get the upper hand. Yeah, the Pats got caught against the Jets. After all, the Jets would've destroyed them otherwise....not. The Pats are crushing their opponents without it, so did they really even have to do it? No.

Don Shula was a good coach. He coached an undefeated team over 35 years ago. If anything, teams are tougher today because football has been refined and there are better training methods and that is FACT. Any superior team today could beat the 72' Dolphins. People will deny this, but they have to realize they were unstoppable......nearly four decades ago. Arts and science improve with time. This includes football.

I wonder what excuses there would be if the Pats didn't get caught "stealing" signals. All teams do it, just in different ways. They'd be dumb not to. Why not get any edge you can over your opponent? If you found out the Colts steal signals without a camera, would they have an asterisk next to their win last year? I doubt it. Besides pumping in crowd noise, and the fact that Coach Bills mic wasn't working with Brady's headset seems a little strange, but it's Saint Dungy and the Colts, so lay off! What a joke. When the Pats go all the way, undefeated or not, put an asterisk next to the win, do what you want it's not going to make a difference to us fans. We know what they have and what they've had for the past seven years. The best coach ever, the best QB ever, and a hell of a hardworking cast around them. I'm 100% confident they're going to win the Super Bowl this year, they are by far the best team in football. Everyone else can steal signs too and I guarantee they still wouldn't be able to beat the Pats. GO PATS!!!!!

I wouldn't say that. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. Shula can voice his opinion if he wants to just like anybody else can. I tend to agree with Shula because we can never be sure just how much an advantage the Patriots had over their opponents. And Shula is no washed up coach, he was one of the best to ever walk the sidelines.

He should have kept quiet. All this bitching and moaning by the '72 Dolphins has started to make them look bad. Their act is getting old. Shula backtracked a little bit, but it's just low class.

No one will ever forget what the '72 Dolphins did. Even if another team goes unbeaten, they'll still be the first. Has everyone forgotten that the Pats were accused of spying before they were exposed by Mangini and the Jets? If they finish out at 19-0 they damn well better have an asterisk behind their name. Even if it had no impact on the games they won, the league recognized they cheated, so the 2007 Patriots will forever be associated with Spygate

It's their claim to fame. It appears that their record could fall this year, thus the sour grapes. Too bad. It just cheapens Shula and the 72 Dolphins.

YES!!! hes just upset that he just got lucky to go 15-0 and they didnt even win the superbowl so they werent undefeated i say 15-0* pats probably wont go 16-0 bc they will pull tom brady for like the last 2-3 games and go 14-2 or 15-1, but at least they will win the superbowl. 1973 dolphins15-0* not 2007 NE pats19-0(3 playoff games)* no asterisk.... go lions

No. He is just echoing the thoughts of everyone in the country outside your tiny, pathetic little state. We have farms down here bigger than your state.
