I would wait until child is 18.

There are online birth registries she could try too.

It's not illegal at all to attempt to find and contact the ADULT adoptee. Wait until the adult adoptee is 18 years of age. It's pretty thoughtless to try to get in touch with a child who is under 18 because a child might not be able to cope as well with the "news" as an adult would.

you are able to desire to have some counseling first. There are books available approximately this type of situation. Your beginning dad and mom enjoyed you sufficient to furnish you 2 dad and mom that raised you. no count if that's 'closed' then do no longer pursue it. you have not got the nicely suited to invade someone's existence in simple terms on account which you think of they owe you some form of rationalization. they have moved on.....you may attempt to as nicely.

If she knows who the adoptive parents are, that may make it easier, but I wouldn't contact the child until they're 18.

Something is wrong! Being a lawyer she should know if the baby was taken from her by deception it's kidnapping and she should involve the FBI.

Unless the child wants to see her, she may be opening wounds she can't heal. 17 years is a long time. Tricked or not, she gave the child up.
