im 4 cm dilated, me & my partner is having sex. my best friend told me i could harm the baby if i have sex while im dilated, is that true?

After your waters break there is risk of infection - otherwise intimacy is fine for married couples late in pregnancy.

Well not necessarily harm the baby.. BUT, if you are 4 cm you probably have a bulging bag of waters. If the pressure of a contraction (during "O") and other factors combined, causes it to break, you might find labor happening rather quickly. I've seen women go from 4 - 10 in 15 minutes (not usually the case, but it happens) - once their water was broken. *I* wouldn't chance doing anything at your stage of the game. I tend to be cautious though.

As long as your membranes haven't ruptured, you're just fine. But take it easy, it might not be very comfortable.
