I'm a little older, a Sophomore in HS, played on Freshman team last year and i can only pitch 72-73. But are you talking pitching or just throwing like with a crow hop, cuz that adds a lot of velocity. I'm not a pitcher either so i'm not the best person to go off of cuz i can throw a lot harder than i pitch. Pitchers on our team last year threw about 75-80. So, i think you're in pretty good shape. Keep working out your legs. They're much more important than your arm when pitching.

I just answered a question similar to yours, please read,
but I'd say ur right on a good average speed! :)
heres what I wrote for another 14 yr olds father.. said his kid pitching 70-72 I think.
Yes in the 70's is very good! :) but I agree he shouldn't push it ALL the time, save that shoulder a little. (gotta save some steam and surprise the other team time to time! lots a fun! lol) .. But my son and his buddies around 13-14 yrs old. all pitched around low 60's. and these were our Star pitchers! Good Luck to the Kid! Protect that shoulder with no horse playing with buddies, my son injured his shoulder that way, landed hard on it while goofing around, and always got sore prematurely while pitching because of it, after that incident. *~*
But when boys wanna goof around, they dont listen to reason. lol, (So Protect the Shoulder from injury as much as possible!) well, the arm too lol.

Thats pretty good for a kid your size. Keep throwing and make sure your not hurting your arm. The average speed for your age is usually at little league level, 65-70, and at Babe Ruth level 55-65.
Your paced to do good things so keep working at it, don't get cocky and remember to always focus on hitting one thing. The Catchers mit.
Good Luck!

wow...when you get past 3 years old, you leave off the quarters and halves off your age. for a 13 (and 3 quarter) year old its about 65-75 mph
