I've had days like this a lot lately!!! I think everyone does, however, I don't think it would be normal if it lasts for more than a couple weeks. There could be an underlying problem to talk to your doctor about. I sure am not trying to sound typical!! But in my case, I like to work out a lot, and lately i've had no intrest!!! After 15 years or more of working out. Try to force your self to do at least one thing of intrest today!! Another thing is my bodybuilding diet. Boy have I messed up. I'm supposed to eat 6 good meals a day, but I eat about 2 bad ones. The reason I tell you these things is I can completely relate with what you said. Even if we don't share the same interests. Hope all goes well.

Yes, but if it goes on for 14 days, see a helping professional. You would probably be considered clinically depressed by then, and before it gets worse, please see a counselor, a psychology therapist or psychiatrist immediately. At least talk to your own physician if you have one. He or she can refer you to a helper, and also prescribe an antidepressant for you if such treatment is deemed appropriate for you. Don't want to take drugs? That's wonderful, but it is also a little silly not to take a medicine that you really need, because depression and generalized anxiety are serious physical ailments as well as psychological ailments. And there is nothing wrong with you if you do get depressed or anxious. The only wrong thing you could do in this case, is nothing, but for now, dear sir, one day of lethargy and apathy won't hurt you. In fact, it might mean you need to rest for a day or maybe even two. And I wish you well.

I am like that Most of the time! -- Here is what it is from-- DAILY SOCIAL STRESS [ I.e Negative attention from the "public" at your WORK Or SCHOOL] It can Lead a person to become AFRAID of being Hurt [ in one way or another] So INSTEAD of speaking up about it, Some people decide to try to "take care of it themselves" by allowing fear to get the best of them. This may lead to Negative relationships and depression. Another reason is personal issues that require a "DOWN TIME" in order to clear AND focus your thoughts. In this case [ which is more Common] than my Answer is YES it Is Normal as long as it is not ALL the time.

Yes, and there is nothing wrong with that. The time to be concerned is when it is a constant thing. Those
"down" days are days to read a good book, or watch reruns, or movies on TV. Sometimes when your brain is on overload, this will happen, and your body is telling you to slow and smell the roses. Have fun..doing nothing. Europeans have learned this, but in USA we push ourselves to be burned out many times. Take care of yourself by learning it is ok to have a "mental health" day...relaxing.

Yeah, it is very normal especially for this time of the year. I cannot remember the name of the chemical released, but your brain actually adjusts to the decrease in natural light during the late fall and early winter and this causes you to feel sluggish, tired, and even depressed. The way to get over it is to do something very active; try going to the gym or getting involved in an art class of some sort.

Everyone has down days and that is normal. If it persists for more than a week you need to consider seeking help as it could be depression. Write down your feelings - the ones that are troubling you and also write down things that make you happy. Sometimes just writing things out will help to clarify what's going on in our heads. Good luck and I hope you feel back to normal soon.

This kind of a day is necessary for everyone to regroup mentally and physically. We're so used to being on the go and being busy all of the time, it's like our brain goes into overload, and we need to rest. If you dont gear down, you'll eventually blow a short circuit. Everything is a matter of degree. If we do this every day-maybe you need to talk to a professional, but if it happens every now and then, there's no problem.

But of course! We ALL have the Occasional "down" day- when ALL we want to do is "Veg out" with a thick book, or sit in front of the TV & watch Movies all day! Such "days" are pretty hard to come by for most people- But that doesn't mean we don't WISH we could have one! We're ONLY human, afterall... :)

*LOL*...That's like every other day for me!
I have a job where I work just 1/2 the days (14 days every 4 weeks), but my shifts are 12-hours. Often, when I get home early AM after a long overnight shift, I just find myself wanting to sleep, and even after a long nap, I remain sluggish.
