Body Builders - Independent contractors that have to cover all their own expenses and earn prize money unless they are the top 5% of the industry at which point they might get decent endorsements.

yeah, because what are body builders good at that doesn't involve making lesser body builders feel uncomfortable? There are only two major events for professional body builders (Mr. Olympia and The Arnold Classic) and the same set of guys are basically at every tournament. You could also include the The World's Strongest Man competions...

Nerds however have a wide expanse of knowledge which they can master. Fields Medals, Nobel Peace Prizes, X Prizes, DARPA, McCarthur Genius Grants, and whatever governing body their is for video games to name just a few.

The better question seems to be who fares better in life financially, nerds or athletes.... in which case it seems nerds always win... but they will never be able to keep a finely tuned athlete from kicking sand in their face and stealing their woman.

Hell yes, they get paid more. It does pay off to learn as much as possible. Think about it if we didn't have geeks and nerds we would not have computers, video games, etc. Not to mention doctors, pharmacist, etc.

As long as they can entertain the public, they can earn more than the rest.

Both of them have chance to be an entertainer. Body builder, if you show on TV, you'll earn a lot.

If nerds and geeks become a joker on TV, showing off their scientific jokes, they'll earn a lot also.

Good luck!

Yes, a nerd always has his aptitude ..but a body builder does not..and at more of a risk daily to hurt himself or disable his abilities. (Higher Risk) i.e. drop a bar
