Personification is a creative writing technique where inanimate objects are described as having human qualities, abilities or emotions.

For example, for a candle: "... the candle cried its waxy tears...."

A mirror: "... as the mirror mocked my every move..."

Those are just some examples off the top of my head. I'm sure you can run with this and make up some of your own.

EDIT: LOL! I have to laugh at the sad fool who dislikes me so much that he has to thumbs-down me on something as far-removed from the paranormal as creative writing!

The diamond seemed to wink at me. (not as good as T.R.s)
EDIT...I think you're in the wrong section. You need to go to literature or creative writing or even poetry.Those people should have a lot of good ideas.

Keep in mind that how you personify an object depends entirely on what mood you are trying to convey.
