Any prestige that Prize USED to carry went out the window when they gave it to such luminaries as Nelson Mandela (communist), Yasser Arafat (terrorist), and Jimmy Carter (bumbling goofball)
EDIT: The only thing Nelson Mandela is "worthy" of is to be thrown back into a jail cell, where he belongs! He is a dirty, lousy communist:

First, it's spelled "Nobel."
Second, the Peace Prize is not reserved exclusively for those who negotiate treaties or otherwise bring about peace directly. It is routinely awardedto people who make great humanitarian contributions.
Gore has done much more than "make a movie"--he has spent the last 7 years working to educate people about environmental dangers. Further, he hs had the courage to do so in the face of slander, lies, and efforts at character assaniation.
The people who continue to deride him aren't discriditing Gore--or the scientific facts. They are only showing their own lack of honesty and decency.

When a man who dicated his life to killing people is given the prize I knew it was heading down hill.
Than when Al Gore won it over a woman who save children in WWII from the Holocaust.
I know it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Quite simply it has turned into the "liberal of the year" award, I mean really when al gore took a private jet busting out all of those carbon emissions to receive an award that was not for "peace" at all ............its a bit of a dead giveaway

I agree. I don't understand how running around like Chicken Little screaming "The sky is falling!" brings about world peace. Well, at least he can use the $1 million dollar prize to pay off some of his mansions energy bills and buy some more carbon offsets.

Its morphed into a looney liberal award. I think Rosie will get the next one. Right after she proves that 9/11 was an "inside job"....
