Hello. I'm trying to get an item shipped from Slovakia to a US address. The other party in Slovakia insists that there's no postal insurance available in Slovakia. Some carriers like DHL might be too expensive, so I want to use postal system. Does someone know if this is true? Thanks.

There is postal insurance in Slovakia. Insurance costs 70 Sk for 1000 Sk value, and 5 Sk for every additional 1000 Sk value. (Exchange rate is approximately $ 1 = 23 Sk.) There is also Track & Trace service, so you may follow the letter through Internet.
