This happens about 50-70% of the time I am in bed falling asleep.

I might be thinking about something, and the words I'm thinking in my mind are suddenly being said to me outside it. Like, they don't sound like they are coming from my head but from around me.

Sometimes the 'voice' finishes the sentence in my head I was just thinking. Usually though I can barely understand what it is saying, it's just gibberish. It's also not my own voice, they are different mens and womens voices. They will only talk for a second then stop. But then come back again in another minute or so (if I'm still thinking) to talk for one second.

It can get very frustrating.

I -do- have hallucinations, very vivid ones... but I want to know if this is a hallucination too or a common thing that happens to people. Like when you stare at an inanimate object for a long time, it will start moving. That happens to heaps of people and isn't really hallucinating (so I've been told by most people I ask).

Ty.

Because this is happening to you when you are falling asleep, it is possible that you are experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations. They are associated with sleep disorders, not mental illness.

Medicines or even certain foods can do that to you also stress can cause those same things, stop staring at the same thing, that would mess anybody up, but remember the old devil could be messing with you, I hope you don;t have an Ouija board in the house do as I have heard some crazy stories about those things .

I think you may have the beginnings of some mental disorder. Please see a doctor. This is not normal, in any way. It's a condition in your brain, for which you are not responsible or are causing on purpose. Don't blame yourself. But tell a medical doctor about this. It really sounds to me, from my general knowledge of various mental illnesses, as if it's a form of schizophrenia. But don't listen to me, get some real medical advice! You mentioned you have hallucinations - that's not normal either, unless you're on drugs that cause that! Either way, not good, left unchecked! Take care of yourself!

Normal no, and yes, these are called auditory hallucinations; they are not nice because people will react negatively to you. What causes them is not easy to explain; try working with a psychologist or seek a pastor that does counseling so that you can get better insight.
