Being a good person takes working on it ever day. It takes making a conscious effort to do the right thing each and every day.

A person could do all of the above that you have mentioned, except the doing nothing part. Also get right with God as well, staying close to God will certainly help. Living a life that is closer to what God wants will help a person to do the right things.

A person would have to have a love of the Lord, and a willingness to except that it is better to do God's will rather than their own.

It takes work to decide to do the right things in our lives. There is always going to be temptations where ever you turn. It is takes staying strong and knowing what you want to do, and sticking to it that will also help you achieve what you want.

Remember that no one is perfect. Every one slips up now and again, forgive your self and keep trying to do the right things. You will get better as time goes on.

It's as they say practice makes perfect, so that it does take work. But if you want it bad enough you can get there.

Best wishes.

You can't. You can try to be 'good' from moment to moment, but you can't cement your goodness for all time.
