That combo is fine. Keep an eye on the fish and if they appear to have difficulty swimming, adjust the flow so the current isn't too strong.

I have several ten gallon tanks and a couple of five's. I use a Magnum 360 on a rotating basis for my tanks beside the power filters. I always us a bigger power filter than what is recommended. The only problem is some fish don't like the current.

Generally speaking for most tropical fish, no not at long as the current is not so strong your fish can't swim in it. If on the other hand you have fish that do best with little to no current such as a betta, then you can over filter simply because of the amount of current the filter produces.

I guess anything is possible. But in your situation you should be fine. It is generally better to have a filter rated for a tank larger than the size you have i.e. 25g pump for a 10g tank. It is also better to have 2 or more filters such as an under gravel filter and a power filter hanging from the back of the aquarium.

Your combination is fine. Going up a size ot two on your filter doesn't hurt as long as the flow isn't so strong that all the fish can't swim. If they seem to have trouble, you should be able to adjust the flow with a knob at the top of the intake.

depends on the fish and the filter really. Some pumps can turn down the volume and speed.
Some fish love fast currents and other prefer little or no water movement.

You can never have too much filtration, too much flow yes, but too much filtration, never. Unless they can't maintain their position in the water. I usually use bigger filters on my tanks than what they really need, just in case I accidentally overfeed or overstock, it helps out.

No it won't. The more filtration is better for your fish.

Possible but not probable. As long as there isn't too much current, your OK.
