My friend calls me Gerald, after this line in Bike:
"I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house.
I don't know why I call him Gerald.
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse."
I'm not so sure how that relates to me, but anyway.....

Did you or do you have a nickname that was music related?

Yeah, Spooky.. One friend started calling me that when I was younger, he was a big New Order fan. Once he moved away the nickname went away til around 96, when it started again. This time more of a Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids reference, all the weird kids that hung out in this one area of our school were dubbed spooky kids and I was the de facto leader.

Yeah...'Chungas Revenge'! People have been calling me that for years, or just 'Chunga' for short.

Edit -
Sarah C - I was a college radio DJ, and my show was called 'Chungas Revenge'. I played mostly underground music from the late 60's-early 70's.
Eventually people started calling me Chunga. My parents hated it! The only people who refer to me as Chunga these days, are old friends from my past, along with the Yahoo answers crowd.

Never had a musical nickname :(
In fact, the only people who call me Silver are all of you, and my mum {she sometimes also calls me Wolf Lady}!

I'm writting a novel which features quite a few musicians, and one of the main characters is sort of based on me {my alter-ego, who can actually sing and play guitar!}. So I've insisted in putting a few music based {and other} nicknames, and my character gets variously referred to as :~

Ms Nicks {for Stevie}
Karen {for Karen Matherson ~ same initials as the character}
Caruthers {not music related}

And the band's female bassist gets nicknamed 'John' {for all those great bassists}, 'Gordon' {after Sting}, and Paris {after Phil Lynot}.

There are several others, but here is not the place to go through every character!

If anyone has any other ideas for music related nicknames {either for me or my characters}, they would be appreciated :)

John Lennon, basically because of the glasses I had at the time (I'm guessing here)

I was also called Trotsky once because of a pointy Van Dyke I had back then (not musical unless the giver was aware of Trotsky Icepick, which I highly doubt)

I got called Van Gogh (or "ze pained artiste") once too, I think because I wore a turtleneck that day (and had aforementioned pointy Van Dyke)

In high school I was a musical misfit......no one listened to all the stuff that I did, they were all pretty much rap, top 40 and R&B listeners. So one of my friends started calling me Judy, as in The Ramones' Judy Is A Punk. I also was called Janis (Joplin) due to my love for classic rock and my hippie mane of hair.

Nope, I haven't. But all my animals have music related names. I've had a dog named Isis (Bob Dylan's Isis...which is also where I got my screen name) and a cat named Kashmir (Led Zeppelin). I had another cat whose name was Aleister...my dad named him. I can't figure out, though, if he named him after the man Aleister Crowley or the Ozzy song which was about Aleister...hmmmm

Yes. Unfortuneately my PRINCIPAL used to call me Frankie goes to Hollywood. Then others started catching on. I used to call others by music related nicknames too. Like this kid with a pug nose i used to call Billy Corgan. And of course a female teacher with dirty blonde mullet-type hair became known as Duff McKagan (not to her face)

Before my Aunt died, she called me her "Brown Eyed Girl" Still one of my favorite songs...
I'm also called Maggie May alot, I guess it kind of resembles Megan (my real name) and I used to have a small obsession with Rod Stewart as a child.

as a pet name, my bf calls me other girls names -- from songs, lol! He's getting rather creative and I find myself having to look for the songs online.

Sara

Jenny

Michelle

Valerie

or he'll call me up and say "what's up Delilah?" etc. I find it to be funny as long as it's not everyday, b/c that would get annoying! LOL. Also, my Screen name is a song reference to one of my favorite bands ;)
