During the American revolutionary war, 1776-1789, the Shawnee Indians (Chief Blackfish and Blue Jacket) allied themselves with the British and raided over the Pennsylvania/New York border and massacred a lot of colonialist settlers and brought back scalps to prove to the British colonel that they were killing England's enemies.

So, dig out your birth certificate, then find the documents of your ancestors, including birth/marriage/death certificates and see what you can see.
