I would buy everything you need to set up it's enviroment and not set it up until the day before or even just a few hours before you got it.

Set it up now and get the humidity and temps right. Then all you have to do is add the corn snake later. It's saves so much stress and hassle. You should set up the habitat about 1-2 weeks before you get a corn snake, so the temps become just right. Good Luck!

Set it up before. Also read some books on cornsnakes-there is plenty of advice as to how the terrarium is set up. The snake only cares about warmth so a heat pad and light are must. They also like to hide so a carved out piece of log will do. You can also find a variety of real and synthetic logs in a good reptile store. Most people that work in reptile stores are faithfull herpers, so they can give you good advice. Mine past away last year, she was 13 years old.

I would set it up before, just like you would prepare early for a dog or cat. When my son was young, he had an albino corn snake named Slither. I was running a daycare in my home at the time and some of the parents were alittle freaked out. LOL. At least no one asked us to get rid of him.

You should have everything set up approx 24 hrs before bringing the snake home. This will allow for the temperature to stabilize and give you a chance to make sure temps are correct.

I would set it up now because if you wait you the snake will get alot colder and might die without a heat lamp and pad

Do it ahead of time so it's all ready for him. Give him a week to adjust before attempting to handle or feed.
