At 7 weeks I would be lucky to get 2 minutes of tummy time before he was crying. At 10 weeks I went out and bought this fancy spin and play tummy time system to see if that would help and it didn't. His arms aren't long enough yet to spin himself around. I finally figured out that the boppy pillow with the activity mat worked. This was at 12 weeks. Now he will do 10 minutes or so and actually grab at the toy or look at the mirror while propped up on the pillow. Of course I have to be right beside him, if I get up or move out of view he cries.

What worked at 7 weeks for tummy time was laying on Daddy's chest. Doctor said that counts. If baby likes it great, if not don't worry about it. Millions of children are raised without getting "tummy time" until they learn to roll over and they don't seem to have any lasting ill effects. Tummy time is just stressed because it does help to strengthen back, neck and arm muscles so that baby does roll over/crawl possibly a bit sooner. (Too be honest, I am not ready for my son to start crawling just yet!)

I was told about 15mins per day but it doesn't have to be all at once and to keep adding time as they get a little older. basically i put my son on his tummy until he starts to get a little cranky, i do this several times a day.

It really depends on her. My son would only do about 5 minutes (or less) at a time. You only need to do it once a day (even though I didn't).

Go by her cues. at this age, 15 minutes or so a day should suffice.

As much as she can handle. She will learn to pick herself up faster this way. You will also prevent head flattening as well.
