Education = Liberalism
Ignorance and/or lack of education = Conservatism.

You never hear the Cons calling the Libs ignorant because they know it wouldn't make sense. They couldn't back up an argument when 99% of the time the Cons have no idea what they're talking about. So instead they call Libs anti-American and insult the liberal education system.

Conservatism greatest strength is ingorance and lack of knowledge. The Con/Rep leaders do a great job and making sure their cult members don't ever attempt to think for themselves. They make sure that they only accept information from within. Bush can be caught lying on national telivision, admit to lying, apologize for his lies and the Cons/Reps will still deny he ever lied. Bush and Co. have all admitted there are/were no WMDs in Iraq, yet many Cons/Reps still argue there were WMDs. Where does that line of thinking come from? Ignorance and lack of knowledge.

Liberals - Let the truth be authority.
Conservatives - Let the authority be the truth.(dangerous!)

Are you suggesting conservatives quit their six-figure-salaried jobs and take teaching positions in public schools, and completely and irrevocably GUARANTEE our children get a mediocre education?

To be fair have them make sure they have summer employment lined up (so they won't be temtped to go on that "Welfare" thing they all hate so much), that teaching salary only covers 9 months of the year. If they plan on eating, they better have that summer job ready. Perhaps they should practice the phrase, "Would you like to Up Size that?"

Better yet, they could REALLY show those illegal immigrants they mean business and spend the summer picking strawberries for pennies a day. Or lettuces in Salinas, CA, travelling with the migrant workers. Show them there is nothing those damned illegals are willing to do for pennies a day, that our wonderful Conservatives aren't willing to do as well.

I have led landscape crews in the summers in Arizona. I have led a squad in the Army. I have worked construction, both Union and non union, sales, motel management, property management, yellow page ad design, security, etc. There has been very little I haven't been willing to do to earn an honest buck. I promise you the reason Bush has not closed the AZ MExico borde ris because without those "illegal aliens" most service work in this nation would grind to a halt.

The plain fact is, they WILL do the work most of you wouldn't do at ten TIMES the money.

Is there ever such a thing as a mediocre education? If you had more republicans or conservatives do you really think it would make the education any better than it is now? Probably not. Teachers aren't being paid, children aren't being punished, it is just a playground with the possibility of learning.

Since political indoctrination is NOT a class taught at any public school I'd say you are completely wrong. Now as much as the Repubs would like to have such a class, and as much as they would enjoy developing the class curriculum, like religion, political indoctrination should be kept out of public education. I went through 12 years of public education, 4 years of college, and 2 years of grad school. While in the course of that education I did have several teachers who were obviously Dem and Repubs, I can't say that any of them influenced my current political beliefs. That came more from my parents and my own general intelligent choices.

I suppose even a mediocre education would be an improvement. Really, though, we have the resources to give those children who could benefit from it a genuinely first-class education - but, for some reason, we wait until college to do that.

What exactly is a Liberal? As someone from outside the USA i find this term somewhat confusing as it seems to be used in a pejorative sense. Does it mean someone who doesn't believe in the Bible? if so where does that leave all the Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu citizens of the USA? or, does it mean someone who doesn't believe in corporal punishment or torture? if so, where does that leave all the Christian citizens of the USA, does it mean someone who doesn't believe in the 'OLD testament' ? If so where does that leave all the Jews whose spiritual system of belief cannot be so easily encapsulated?
What is a Liberal? is it someone who would prefer not to go to war given an alternative? What exactly do you fear your children may e cheated out of?
Sorry my answer is more of a question but your question begs the question.....what is a liberal?

If you mean they are not being allowed to see all sides of an education, then yes they are being cheated. They are not allowed to think for themselves and develop opinions different than what the instructors think. This is wrong at all levels. It is never good for a person to be taught only one side of issues.

Which explains why my children go to a private Christian school. Amazing how in 18 years of operation, not one teen pregnancy in an abstenance only sex ed class, 38 out of 40 graduates recieve college scholorships, and there has never once been an act of school violence on this campus. care to compare that to a public school?

I'm a liberal and I'm a teacher. My students are learning, in spite of Mr. Bush's "No child left behind" program. Test scores in most schools have gone down since it was instituted.
