I agree with it...

Here's how we should answer our phones:

Good Morning (or evening, or afternoon). Welcome to The United States of America.

Press "1" for English.

Press "2" to disconnect until you learn to speak English

And remember only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

Jesus Christ

and the American Soldier.

One died for your soul,

the other for your freedom.

I'm not racist; I just happened to agree with this email. Also not a redneck. And yes, my ancestors were russian, and they DID learn English and I'm sure it wasn't easy, but they did it. so why can't everyone else?

I agree with the learn to speak English part but when you think about it, out of everyone speaking English in the United States how many of them speak any Native language?

Maybe it should say press 1 if you speak Apache, Press 2 to disconnect until you learn to speak Apache.

English isn't the native language of the United States. It may be an official one taught in schools but it's just another language spoken by immigrants that moved into a country and assimilated it slowly.

wow!
i thought narrowminded redneck americans were a mith only portrayed in commercial hollywood movies.
but you exist!
america is a bundle of people who came from the rest of the world. the only real americans, indians, are now living in "reserves(?)" like circus freaks and living of gambling. that sure is a good way to preserve your legacy!

english, its a fact, is one of the most spoken languages around, but not the only one. do you know the how many languages the average american speaks? none. because slang doesnt count!
christ, has been prooved no to exist. as its not been prooved to exist. its a dual negation. look it up. anyway, if its such a great country, what way is that to treat believers of other faiths? were's freedom of speach?
the american soldier.... LOL. do u really think sadam hussein was a threat to your freedom? maybe to the price of your oil... and Bush's family fortune, that im sure. on this side of the planet, weed be glad if no more american soldiers died. cause that would mean you'd stop pretending to be helping everyone when noones asking for your help. stay home. dont come anywere near europe or the rest of the world. come as friends, as tourists, as equals. meet us half way, make FRIENDS!

i bet youre gonna explode when you read this, but i just dont care. have a nice day, and please please, smile at someone today. its free!

not really....everyone I know already knows it's the united states and my relatives who don't speak english are calling for my husband who speaks both english and spanish - not to mention everyone I know has much respect for the united states military, I have six cousins on my husband's side that are all marines, I have three friends in the army and national gaurd. Besides I, myself, have offered to die for my friends and family so I guess that ruins the last part of your little rant.

I'm Australian.
If you think you have probs with that sort of thing there, you oughta try here!!
Even our local telephone system is run from India!

But Yes; I think that would be a fine, American patriotic opening to a phone call.
Just might be a shade long ... but otherwise - Good opening!

What happened to Hello? It is much shorter.

Also, you don't have to fight through the waves of the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Taoist, Buddhist (SP?), Scientologist, or other major religion protesting this greeting.

Also, on a more personal note, this would really hinder any conversations that I would have with my grandmother in Germany and my neice in Italy. They would be forced to press two, I would assume.

Wow....
I really hope that's a joke, it's not funny but it couldn't be true...no one is that insensitive arrogant and ignorant...are they?

When I answer my phone I say "HIYA, hows things?". I don't make any political statements, Maybe I should:
"Hello, kitten here, if you're not prepared to respect others, get the hell off my phoneline, thanks!"
