I am 14 weeks and I have the same issues. I talked to my dr about it and she said that it is 1 of 2 things.
1. You have a full bladder and need to empty it or
2. the ligaments in your pelvic area is stretching.
The ligaments in the area don't usually move, but to prepare for delivery, your body makes adjustments to allow for delivery. She did indicate that it should not be a consistent pain, but felt when you move around. I felt it most when lying in bed at night, when it was time to roll over.
If it is constant, I would consult the dr on it.

I actually asked a similar question a little while back. Everyone including a confirmation from my doctor said it was round ligament pains from your belly expanding. I am 16-17 weeks pregnant myself. Does it feel like menstral cramps and a pulling? If so then that is normal. If it is painful and feels like a sharp stabbing pain, you might want to check with your doctor soon to make sure everything is going as planned.

Strange to see this ...my daughter in law always complained about her bellybutton hurting and I just thought it was strange. After she had the baby they discovered that her gallbladder needed to be removed and this was the reason for the pain. Apparently the pain reflected to that area. Don't know if this is the problem or not but its worth it to get it checked out. Good luck.

With my first pregnancy, I got sharp, shooting pains in my belly button. That was just before my innie turned into an outie.
