We are definately going with Mary (after my late grandmother)but are looking to use a 'double name'. My husband loves Mary-Kate but I am always hearing...'where's Ashley' as soon as I tell people what the name may be. I don't want to brand my child or make it difficult for her when she gets older. Soooo, any other ideas for a Mary- ______??? Thank you for your help!

I personally like the name Mary Kate, who cares if it also happens to be the name of an Olsen twin?

I would ignore what people say!

I think you should go with Mary- Kate, because the only other Mary- ______ I can think of is Mary-Anne, and that sounds 50 years old. I doubt that your daughter will get teased. The Olsen Twins will probably be long gone by the time she gets into school!

I like Mary Lynne, Mary Elena, Mary Cale, Mary Elise, Mary Catherine Lily, and Mary Annelise. I would drop the hyphen because people will always forget it, but I agree...Mary-Kate totally reminds me of Mary-Kate Olsen, and I'm not sure that's a good thing anymore. Congratulations and good luck...Mary is a great name!=]
