HI, I want to upgrade my computer for FS2004 and I want to know if a 3.0-3.6ghz Pentium 4 processor with hyper threading, 1gb ram and a XFX Geforce 6600gt will handle Microsoft flight Sim 2004 on higher graphics settings with smooth gameplay? Should I even bother trying FSX because I have heard it has very bad FPS even on $3000+ systems.

6600GT will not be able to handle high settings. ATI X1950XT or Geforce 7950 GT can handle high settings and both have AGP versions too in case you are still on AGP slot.

If you have PCIe slot, you could consider ATI HD 2600XT or 8600GT. 8800 series would just be bottlenecked by your processor.

I agree with Karz and his recommendations. I would also like to point out, running FS2004 with 1 gig of ram will be very slow load times. I'd go to at least 2g or more.
