It depends on how you look at it - whether you're just looking at the highest paid player, or the average, or the mimimum salary. . Limiting the discussion to American team sports -

NBA: highest salary is $21 million (Kevin Garnett), average is around $2.7 million, minimum is $427,163

MLB: highest salary is $27 million (Alex Rodriguez), average is around $2.7 million, minimum is $380,000

NFL: highest salary was $24.7 million (Michael Vick, before he was suspended), average is around $720,000, minimum is $235,000

NHL: highest salary is $8.36 million (Jaomir Jagr), average is $1.77 million, minimum is $450,000

However you look at it, MLB looks pretty good. Their mimimum salary is a bit lower than the NBA and NHL and average is around the same as the NBA.
