Don't think there's a spare seat at Renault next year. If the dishonourable little sh*t gets a drive for Spyker, that's more than he deserves!

It's getting interesting now that the Spygate-II has now reared its ugly head. It's reported that it was an ex-Renault man now working for McLaren who blew the whistle on Renault, that Phil Mackereth, the design engineer at McLaren who got recruited to Renault had brought with him some CDs containing McLaren info, and that Renault had been in possession of it since late 2006.
It's just my speculation, but maybe Ron Dennis told this ex Renault guy to leak this piece of information so that Alonso cannnot and would not go to Renault in 2008 (because they will be excluded or penalised heavily). Sounds like a pretty neat little revenge by Ron!

I don't think that "honorability" has anything to do with what you are suggesting.

If you change jobs, you bring a lot of information along with you (in your head) such as lessons learned, etc.

Besides, another possible explanation if Renault were to take off next season (provided Alonso actually ends up there) is that he was the missing like to their success.... He drives for them to great success... he leaves, Renault flounders... He returns and off they go.

Well there was a theory floating around that flav sent him to mclaren under the pretext of wanting to win another title with them but all they actually wanted was to gather info on their car for next years renault. Who knows, maybe the theory is true.

all teams spy, every mechanic in the paddock are looking at the other cars trying to spot something, this is different than having schematics and blue prints, Alonso is great for developing a car and so with or with out data Renault will be better next year

who cares whether he does give them information, hed be stupid not to, as he isnt signed to mclaren anymore, and its not that hes taking discs of information to renault, i think theyre in enough trouble as it is, if the **** hits the fan, then renault could be seriously penalised, thus neutering any deal with alonso.
on another note, you wonder why he wants to go back, considering how much he wanted out of renault in the first place. i think hes desperate to go to ferrari, but hes not going there next year, so i say that he should go to toyota for a year, and we'll find out fast their car really is.

I think after the scandal Alonso's been involved in, other teams might be wary of him. Trust is very important and Alonso has broken it with McLaren. I think he will probably head back to Renault since they're so keen on having him back and after all, he did win his two titles there.

Alonso will not have any more info than he can remember in his head. He'll have ideas and concepts but no solid data.
I would not be suprised if he ends up at Toyota.
