Very good question, and i'm glad you never used the "M" word (Modified), which is for race cars and guns only LOL! - Too many players have said they play a "Modified" (insert brand name here) guitar, just so people will think they're bad#ss players , like "I had to have mine modified so it will keep up with my awesome chops dude!" Jeeez!!!!!!! Everything i do to my guitars is strictly for either comfort , feel , sound and tone. My main Ibanez R440 has had some stuff done to it , that i did myself. I cut my pickgaurd off so that what's left only holds the vol and tone controls and the pickup selector switch to the body - then i installed a bit longer screws in the 1 humbucker and 2 single coil pickups, and screwed those directly into the body (better tone). Another thing i did was shave and finish sand the stock paint off of the back of the neck , to give it a natural wood finish / feel. I've also fabricated another tremolo arm out of a piece of metal rod stock. The idea there was to make a bar that had something different than a stock angle, and instead of threaded or nylon bushings , i use teflon plumbers tape to hold the bar in - works great. I don't put stickers on guitars , BUT i do have a small red reflector slapped on the back of my headstock - and i will sign an affidavit to the fact that i did this BEFORE i heard Edward Van Halen did it. LOL! My other main guitar , a Charvel / Jackson CX290, has had just 2 things done to it. It has a stock whammy, which i don't like...so i don't use (i have the bar , but it's in a box...somewhere). So i screwed it down tight, and jammed a block of wood in the underside to keep the whole thing stable. And recently, i installed a set of Graphtech bridge saddles, which make a HUGE difference in sustain and tone. Well , that's about it.

Have it made from the ground up for my physical and musical specifications. Talked with my luthier for about five months determining what wood(s); nut and neck size; body type; electronics; pickups; and other characteristics would do for the tone and feel I wanted. Once everything was decided, he ordered the parts and started in. I got to come into the shop during construction and with my French Curves, design the headstock right on the slab blank. The whole process was too cool, but the end result is amazing. I've got an axe that reflects my thoughts about the music I play; it's so sweet. If you're interested in more drivel, I'll Email the specs. This is definitely mine; there's not another one like it, and it's my baby. That's not too over-the-top, is it?

One guitar I put stickers on... a T. Rex sticker, a Smashing Pumpkins sticker, a few others... glow in the dark space men stickers over all the fret markers. I also changed the pick-ups and tweaked a few other little things.

Another one I'm gathering feathers in preparation of covering it in feathers and painting it. We'll see how that goes.

Other than that... meh. I don't like my guitar's *that* much.

The main one, I made myself... So it is really my own!
The others, I have tweaked in one way or another, changed pickups, etc. I NEVER put stickers on my finish, it is a pet peeve of mine... My case, well that's another story. Also, I consider all the dents, scratches and cigarette burns on my guitars as adding personality and making them a little more me.

I've cut my fingers on the strings and bled on the fretboard.
