I dont get this math question! please help?

Question

marble makers make red, white, and blue marbles. one week they made 45% red marbles, 17% white marbles, and rest blue marbles. if they made 456 blue marbles, how many marbles did they make in all??

therefore 38% are blue

since 38% = 456

the lot is 456/38 x 100 = 1200

456 blue marbles / 38% = 1200 marbles

1200 * 45% = 540

38/100 = 456/x

hello well i just asked my son who is a math whiz...He say's the answer is 735 marbles were made in total..., Because u add 45 to 17 and u get 62% then u divide that by 456 gives u 735. Like 456 divided by .62 equals 735.48 etc. ....Hope this helps
