Any of the C.I.A faves
1. The Attention Grab: The interrogator forcefully grabs the shirt front of the prisoner and shakes him.
2. Attention Slap: An open-handed slap aimed at causing pain and triggering fear.
3. The Belly Slap: A hard open-handed slap to the stomach. The aim is to cause pain, but not internal injury. Doctors consulted advised against using a punch, which could cause lasting internal damage.
4. Long Time Standing: This technique is described as among the most effective. Prisoners are forced to stand, handcuffed and with their feet shackled to an eye bolt in the floor for more than 40 hours. Exhaustion and sleep deprivation are effective in yielding confessions.
5. The Cold Cell: The prisoner is left to stand naked in a cell kept near 50 degrees. Throughout the time in the cell the prisoner is doused with cold water.
6. Water Boarding: The prisoner is bound to an inclined board, feet raised and head slightly below the feet. Cellophane is wrapped over the prisoner's face and water is poured over him. Unavoidably, the gag reflex kicks in and a terrifying fear of drowning leads to almost instant pleas to bring the treatment to a halt.

Some people have been really funny over this one. Thanks for the laughs!
Well, I would agree with the "No Torture" answer if I was to give a serious answer. I think Torture is one of the most degrading practices existing;...both for the Tortured and the Torturer. It certainly brings out the worst side of our Human Nature which I wouldn`t even wish to call Bestial, because not even Animals or Beasts are capable of such repulsive behaviour.
And anyway...Is torture really necessary whe there must be drugs that make even the most hardened Terrorist or Spy sing out like a little Bird, thus telling all that is wanted to be known?
No, I rather suspect that people use Torture because they actually enjoy it and get pleasure from seeing another human debased.

I would only work in pairs and use the traditional good cop bad cop approach. This does not involve any physical contact whatsoever, nor any applied contact from machines or electricity for example, but it does require very intensive exploration of the psychological and emotional state of the subject. No bullying! Skill, sensitivity and understanding use of psychology.
Unfortunately, most interrogators are very primitive and have little or no understanding of themeselves and could therefore have no skill in this area as it requires empathy and intelligence. Shame on you USA! for handing this sensitive process over to trailer trash conscripts and private contractees whose minds are shaped by playstation war games and pornography. The greatest nation on this earth has slipped miserably into unworthiness. Abu Graibe, Guantanamo Bay etc. WHY WHY WHY? for God's sake are you allowing this to happen in your name?

Only those prescribed by the Geneva Convention and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. I wouldn't want to wind up like Lynde England.
I might play them some Blackalicious and Stevie Ray Vaughn until they asked for mercy.

I am not a trained interrogator, there are many methods but all I know is that I would not use torture.

first diligent nagging to prepare soften his skull,
then a shooter fox news as torture, and perhaps
yet threatening with a tv evangelist coming to visit.

Are you trying to get me to torture someone? Cheney's methods are weak and undeveloped.
If you want to really torture a man, make him listen as you read him every Jane Austin novel and then watch the movies (because the movies are never as good as the book). For women prisoners, make them watch their husbands play World of Warcraft for 7 days without talking to them or taking out the trash.

Depends on what information I thought I was going to get.
Waterboarding and truth agents would probably be the limit...unless I knew (ABSOLUTELY) that there was a major bomb or something, and the prisoner knew where it was...then pulling out toe nails and salting the wound would not be out of bounds.
Yes, I believe that to save large numbers of civillians torture is acceptable. However, I do not believe that waterboarding or truth agents are torture.
That Guy...OMG!!!! You are MEAN!!!

I like Elliott and Olivia on Law and Order-Special Victims.
Seriously. It better be legal for it to be worth anything. Torture usually doesn't work. Waterboarding is against the Geneva Convention. We have condemned other countries for water boarding.
