-go to the doctor (OBGYN) and your regular doctor for a physical - tell them your plans
-start taking a prenatal vitamin and 1000mg of folic acid
-you will also need to increase your calcium- either incorporate more into your diet or take a supplement
-exercise regularly
-eat healthy
-Go buy the book: Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. The book explains your cycles, charting and how to get pregnant. It is a great book.
-Buy a basal thermometer at the drug store. Start charting your waking temperature so that you can get an accurate picture of what is happening in your cycles. This information can aid you in having sex at the correct time as well as providing your doctors with information that can lead them to figuring out what the problem is if you wind up having a problem. When you do this ahead of time, you will already have your cycle down when you start trying. (You can also use this method for birth control.)
-stop doing drugs or smoking cigarettes (if you do)
In regards to caffeine:
The less caffeine you consume, the better. Some experts say more than 150 mg of caffeine a day is too much, while others say more than 300 mg a day is too much. 300mg is about what you may get from just one strongly brewed 8-ounce cup of coffee.

Eat as healthy as you can. Fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc. Limit caffeine to maybe one drink's worth per day. (I get decaf cuz decaf coffee still has some caffeine.) Limit sugar, processed foods, all the bad stuff. Start prenatal vitamins. There are also teas and supplements that can help you conceive and strengthen the female system. Exercise regularly. Talk to your doc. Get some lovin'!

yes, caffeine is not a bad thing itself. It's the amount of sugar that's in it. Which makes you prone to gestational diabetes when you do conceive.
Good Luck!!
