Why is it everyday, there are more and more homework questions on here? When I was in school (1990's), we had computers and the internet but we also had TEXT BOOKS (which most of the time have the answers to the questions they are asking on here). Do todays kids not know how to read and research their own homework problems?!?! And people wonder why todays education system is in trouble.
Yahoo should forbid questions asking for someone to "help figure out" this answer because I'm too lazy to look it up myself.

YES. I think it's a generational thing. We didn't have YM.
But I don't get why they put the question up when it'd be just as fast as looking for the answer in a search.

Because people will only work hard in subjects that interest them and be useful to them.

99% of us are not going to be engineers. So why make us learn calculus?

99% of us are not going to be author, and poets, and english professors, so why make us take English past grade 12?

Students are lazy, but all people are lazy. If there is something you could get away with not doing that has no benefits of doing it, why would you waste your time?

Are we saying religious students are lazy or students in general? Well regardless I agree with you and to answer your question I think they are not interested in what it is they are learning. We could blame lazy bored students or we could blame our educators that are not putting a fire under these topics.

I hate to see that, too, especially when I get on here to take a break after doing my own schoolwork all day...I saw it in high school and I saw it in college, so I guess it's just going to keep happening.
