Best new I've heard in a long time. Keep up the good work, our fighting men and women!

Its good news in any situation.

However, I'm going to have to play the part of a skeptic.

Al Quaeda in Iraq has never been a major problem anyway. The Bush administration has consistently attempted to paint the picture that Al Quaeda is the dominant terror group that we are combatting in Iraq, while in fact they make up an incredibly small portion of the forces U.S. troops are facing. If Al Quaeda is out of Baghdad, and thats all, then I'm not under the impression that its much safer.

As for the other points the article makes, I am unable to comment on them. Murders are down 80%? What constitutes a murder? A while ago I read about some pretty vicous statistic warping, so I a bound to doubt the total accuracy of that statement.

It's not such good news when you consider that there were NO Al Quaida in Baghdad to begin with before our invasion. And that flushing Al Quaida out of Baghdad is not related to victory or success in the war, or finishing up the war. And that our generals have been found to lie to us habitually and those who won't lie to us get fired in a hurry.

President Reagan always brought only good news to the American people. He always had some wonderful nugget of good news to open a press conference, bad news was always released late on a Friday afternoon or just pinned up on a bulletin board. The Bush Admin. is like that too; good news they make a big deal of. But it's no longer working for them, Bush is now the least popular president since they started keeping figures.

This is good news for America - and it should be equally good news for both political parties, but, unfortunately, it will be seriously downplayed by the democrats.
Sad, eh?

Bad news for the Dems since they're so invested in defeat.

The liberals will spin it and the main stream media wont report it.
