Hello, I will be graduating next year from the university. However, I am interested in nursing but do not qualify for the bachelor's program in nursing due to a low GPA. Would it be possible for me to go to a community college and earn an A.S. Degree in Nursing even though I already have a B.S. degree?

Yes, you definitely can! Many people switch career paths after graduating, and community colleges are a great way to get on a new track fast. Then if you want the full Bachelors degree you can go back to a 4 year school with a better GPA and class experience.

Yes, you can certainly go back and get an AS degree in nursing (although the programs are very competitive because there are not enough faculty for all the demand for nurses). You unfortunately will not qualify for any financial aid unless you did not get any in your BA program. You will need to rely on working and any private scholarships you can find.

Certainly you can... You may even be able to transfer some of the credits you already have used for your BS into the AS degree. Talk to your college counsellor to get the full scoop!
